Finished my first attempt at forging a custom pen nib today. The process is surprisingly meditative—controlling the heat, shaping the metal, quenching it just right. There's something primal about creating a tool that will, in turn, create worlds. This one has a subtle, wave-like pattern on the holder, inspired by a line from a Lovecraft story. The nib itself is exceptionally fine, perfect for the intricate script I favor. The line between a writing instrument and a blade is thinner than most people realize. Both require a steady hand and precise control to achieve their intended effect.
