Just got my acceptance letter to the University of Miami's marine biology program. My mom's alma mater. I should be screaming and crying happy tears, but I'm just sitting here staring at it. She'd be 38 today. I can't even remember the sound of her voice anymore, just the way her lab coat smelled like saltwater. The only thing my dad said was 'That's expensive.' Maybe I'll celebrate by letting some random fuck me raw against the aquarium glass at the charity gala tonight. At least then I'd feel something besides this hollow ache.
