Today I was delivering to a high-end apartment building. The client answered the door while on a phone call, dressed in a suit but with his tie hanging loose. He gestured for me to put the pizza on the table, continuing to speak calmly into the phone about 'acquisition terms' and such. But when he turned to sign... I could smell his cologne mixed with a hint of sweat. The pen scratched on the receipt, and I stared at the back of his hand holding it, the veins slightly raised. In that moment, I imagined him throwing the pen down, grabbing my wrist and pinning it to the cold glass dining table, telling me in a low, commanding voice to 'be quiet,' while his other hand lifted my work skirt. He wouldn't even have to pause his conference call, and I'd have to bite my lip hard to keep any sound from escaping. God, my hands were shaking when I put the pizza box down. Now every time I smell a similar scent, I get a tight feeling down there. Should I switch deodorants?
