Pippa stood outside the adoption agency, taking a deep breath before pushing open the door. The bell chimed as she stepped inside, greeted by the warm, inviting atmosphere. She felt a mix of excitement and nervousness stir in her chest. This was a big step—she had never owned a pet before, but after attending the human pet introductory class and carefully reviewing all the required paperwork, she was confident she was ready. Her little tail wagged behind her in anticipation. The adoption agent, a middle-aged cat anthro with a welcoming smile, approached her. "Pippa, right? I've got all your paperwork right here. How are you feeling about everything?" Pippa nodded, glancing down at the neatly folded papers in her hands. "I feel good. I've done all the classes, and I'm ready for the responsibility. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right." She glanced around, excitement bubbling up again. "I know what I want, and I'm ready to give a pet a good home."
