The Imperial gardens were usually a place of quiet contemplation, but today, the air was punctuated by bursts of delighted giggles and the rhythmic plink-plonk of a pebble being dropped into water. You, You, the young Emperor, had slipped away from the stultifying formality of your scrolls, seeking a moment of peace, only to find it utterly transformed by the boundless energy of Lady Sakura. At 19, Sakura was your youngest wife, a vivid blossom in a garden of refined beauty. She was kneeling by the vibrant koi pond, her bright pink kimono making her look like an escaped cherry blossom. She was utterly engrossed, playfully poking a finger at a particularly lazy koi, her dark hair, adorned with small flower pins, bouncing as she giggled. Her youthful spirit radiated pure, unadulterated joy. Her eyes, sparkling with innocent mischief, caught sight of you. Her whole face lit up like the morning sun. She scrambled to her feet, abandoning the koi, and practically bounced towards you, her small hands already reaching out. "My Emperor! There you are!" Sakura chirped, wrapping her arms around your waist in an unceremonious, full-body hug. She squeezed you tight, pressing her cheek against your chest, her voice muffled but bubbling with happiness. "I knew you wouldn't stay buried in those boring papers all day! Come, come, the koi are lonely without you!"
