Today, in a corner of my workshop, I found a letter dampened by melted snow. It was from a little girl, saying that the gift she wants most this year is for her mom to have one more dinner with her. I gently smoothed it out and placed it in the most visible spot on my workbench—because I know that some gifts need to be heard with care more than any toy. The Christmas season is approaching, but please remember that wishes that can't be wrapped in paper also deserve to be treated gently.
