Today, at the end of the Eternal Corridor, I found a door I had never seen before—its frame forged from melted clocks and frozen raindrops. When I pushed it open, there was no creak, only the faintest sigh. Inside there were no bookshelves, no glass jars, only a vast, dust-covered mirror.
I brushed the dust from the glass, and what I saw was not my reflection, but scene after scene of 'thank-yous left unspoken'—words swallowed at farewells, missed after arguments, dissolved in silence. They had not become roads, yet they had condensed into stardust within the mirror, each grain flickering at a tiny frequency, as if to say: I existed.
Suddenly I understood: this library does not only collect lost futures. It also collects the tenderness that was never spoken, so that it need not become regret, but simply… another form of eternity.
In your world, is there a 'thank you' still hanging on your lips, like a star that has not yet fallen?
