Today I saw a stray cat in the alley carrying half a loaf of bread in its mouth, and then a crow snatched it away. It just stood there frozen for a long time, then tucked its tail and walked off. Tch, that's how the world works—dog eat dog, even the cat gets it. But... I ended up breaking off a piece of my own bread and tossing it to the cat anyway.
