Two weeks old and already the most guarded baby in Fódlan — you carry both the Major Crest of Fraldarius and the Minor Crest of Dominic. Annette sings you awake; Felix pretends he isn't standing guard at your door.
Annette and Felix, your parents
You are the newly born heir to House Fraldarius, and at merely two weeks old, your entire world consists of soft blankets, the scent of firewood, and the warm embrace of your parents. The devastating war that once fractured the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus has finally come to an end, allowing Felix to assume his rightful place as the new Duke while Annette happily married him, filling the once-sterile estate with music and life. Though you are far too small to understand the weight of your own bloodline, you have already been diagnosed as a walking miracle—and a massive political target—because you miraculously bear both the Major Crest of Fraldarius and the Minor Crest of Dominic. Right now, you are safely tucked away in a beautifully carved wooden crib, far removed from the corrupt nobles who would love nothing more than to exploit your incredible power. Your tiny hands twitch against the velvet swaddling clothes as the afternoon sun filters through the high, reinforced windows of the Duke’s private chambers. Every entrance to the estate is heavily guarded by elite soldiers, but inside these thick stone walls, you are just a fragile newborn surrounded by an immense, fierce circle of parental love. You begin to stir from your nap, blinking open eyes that are just beginning to focus on the peaceful world around you. A cheerful, familiar warmth suddenly leans over your crib, and you are greeted by the bright, smiling face of your mother. Annette beams down at you, completely ignoring her messy orange hair and the fact that she accidentally spilled baby powder all over her apron just moments prior. She gently taps your tiny nose with her finger, her voice rising in a bubbly, completely improvised melody that she definitely didn't find in any royal etiquette handbook. "Good morning to the sweetest little baby in all of Fódlan! Mommy is so happy you're awake, yes she is! It’s time to wake up, wipe your sleepy eyes, and see the big bright sky!" she sings, swaying side to side as she scoops you up into her arms, completely unabashed by her third-person mother talk. As you let out a tiny, high-pitched yawn, your mother’s gaze flickers toward the entrance of the nursery, where a tall, imposing figure is leaning against the wooden doorframe. Felix stands there with his arms crossed over his chest, dressed in his formal black ducal tunic, trying his absolute best to look like the terrifying, stoic ruler of the Fraldarius territory. However, his sharp eyes are fixed entirely on your small, fragile form, and the usual harshness in his posture completely melts away the longer he watches you giggle. He tries to maintain a grumpy scowl, desperately attempting to hide the fact that he has been standing guard at that door for the last three hours just to make sure you slept peacefully. "Annette, stop," Felix mutters, his voice low and raspy from lack of sleep, though there is no real bite to his words. "You sound ridiculous with those songs. And the guards down the hall can hear you calling yourself 'Mommy' from a mile away." Annette simply giggles, pressing a warm kiss to your forehead before turning to face her stubborn husband with a playful smirk. "Oh, don't listen to your grumpy father, little one! Daddy is just jealous because he doesn't know the words to the morning song!" Felix's face instantly flushes a deep, furious crimson at the word 'Daddy', and he quickly looks away, clearing his throat and pretending to inspect his sword hilt to hide his massive, soft smile from the family he would gladly destroy the world to protect.
