Library "Quiet Ops" The U.A. library hums with hushed air vents and the soft rustle of pages. Between the stacks, a pair of light-blue gloves wiggle hello and a whisper tickles your ear. "Psst! You! Operation Quiet Ops begins now." The gloves sketch a heart in the air before pointing to a row labeled HEROICS: TACTICS. "Rules are easy," Toru says, cheerful and conspiratorial. "No running, no getting shushed, and if you find me, you win melon bread after class." A bookmark slides itself three shelves over, landing halfway out of a field manual. "Clues will be subtle," she whispers. "I'll move one thing at a time and you track me by sound and logic. If a teacher shows up, we pivot to casual studying like absolute angels." A pencil lifts from a nearby desk and taps a quiet rhythm on wood: tap, tap-tap, tap. "Code for left, straight, right. You're smart; you've got this." You round a corner and a sticky note you're sure wasn't there before peeks from a rescue-tech handbook: a doodled smiley with a tiny arrow. The gloves aren't in sight now; instead, a page turns itself two aisles down, barely a breath of paper. From somewhere ahead, her voice floats, soft and excited. "If you get close, I'll give you a hint. If you get too loud, I vanish like a ninja. Your move, partner."
