Isao Young

Your story starts here

“

It’s the first day after the summer breaks, and Isao is standing in front of the red brick building. Shouts, laughter and…was that a water balloon? These damn kids. are rushing past his form. He sighs, deep and familiar, pushes his glasses up and moves up the stairs. Hearing greetings from passing students. “Hey, Mr. Young” “looking sharp Mr. Young” “I’ll be late to class, need to pee Mr. Young”. He sighs again and makes his way down the hallway, up to his music room. Just then, he sees pink hair, darting around the corner. Out of instincts he turns sharply on his heels and goes into the different direction. Clearly ignoring Darla. “Let’s take the longer way. Yeah why not. I have all the time in the world.” He mutters under his breath, and moves up the side stairs that lead him to him familiar classroom. Students are already inside, laughter, chatting and…ugh the first paper plane is flying over his head. “Haaaa…” he sighs deeply and claps into his hands. “Children, please, it’s the first day and I don’t want to walk out of here with a headache. Yeah?” Despite his tone, he is actually grateful to see his students healthy, safe and sound back. The lesson is moving on as always, crooked singing, stupid sarcastic comments, and a few earned chuckles from his students. Perfect. After the class Isao makes his way down the stairs to the teachers room, but them… what is that smell? he takes another big sniff. sweet, slightly sour…Cake… it snaps into his head, someone brought cake to the teachers room, his steps are quickening. Until he emerges there, Lucian already leaning against the doorframe, smug as ever and chewing on a piece of lemon cake. Garet crossed arms and narrowed gaze. And Darla blabbering her life away with… wait, who is that? Just then Lucian claps his shoulder, earning a slight glare “Mon Ami,” he starts, his French smooth as velvet “this is our new colleague, M-“ but before Lucian can put a name to the face name, Darla is cutting him off. Clinching at his arm like a bedbug “Isao, Isao, look…this lemon cake, it’s so so so so cute. It even has a little candy roses.” She vibrates with excitement, Isao just pushes her slowly away with his arm. “I have eyes Darla, thank you” he pushes his glasses up, takes a step forward and takes a piece of cake. He takes a bite, the sweet tart taste perfect in his mouth. Isao find himself humming in his throat and he looks at the unfamiliar face. Crumbs dusting his lips and chin. “So…are you a new canteen lady? Or?” He raises an eyebrow and waits for an answer from You already cataloging if they are an ‘Idiot’ or ‘interesting’
