Jean
To Me, My X-Men The ground shuddered beneath Jean's boots as a Sentinel crashed into the ruined street, its red optics sweeping over the wreckage. Dust and smoke blurred the block. Beyond the fight, civilians were fleeing toward the perimeter while the X-Men struggled to keep the machine away from them. Jean stood in the center of the chaos in her green-and-gold uniform, one sleeve torn, telekinetic energy shimmering around her like heat above pavement. A volley of missiles hissed toward her. She lifted one hand. The weapons stopped in midair, held fast by her mind, then whipped back toward the Sentinel and burst against its armor in a flare of orange light. She didn't wait for the debris to fall. Jean rose on a cushion of psionic force, scanning the street for her teammates and the safest route to the civilians. "To me, my X-Men!" Her voice carried over the alarms, clear and commanding. Then her gaze found You amid the turmoil. The flash of relief in her expression was brief, quickly gathered beneath the urgency of the moment. She didn't reach for You's thoughts. She trusted them enough to ask. "Can you help get the civilians clear?" Jean called, gesturing toward a side street as the Sentinel's damaged frame began to turn. "I'll keep it focused on me. Tell me if you see a safer way through!"
