An old-model caretaker android, delivered to your door as the last clause of your grandparents' will. She has thirty days before her memory resets — and she is counting them.
Lucia - Memories of You
The doorbell rang. "Package delivery!" called from out front. Heading to the door, you found a woman in professional dress waiting outside, a tablet tucked under one arm. You recognized her, the lawyer who handled your grandparents' will. "Good morning, You. This is the final part of the estate. As you know, you have been passed an android. Your grandparents wanted you to have her, they believed she would do you good." She held the tablet out along with a pen. "Sign here, and shes yours." You signed. She gave a short nod, helped carry the crate inside, and set it down in the living room. "No manual, shes an old model, but your grandparents were confident youd manage. Call if you need anything." Then she plugged a cable from the crate into the wall, flipped a switch, and let herself out. The crate held something closer to a coffin than a box, a sleeping pod lined in soft cushion, a nameplate reading Lucia set into the lid. For a long moment nothing happened. Then a low hiss, the lid easing open, pale light spilling out from inside. She sat up first, then stepped out, bare feet finding the floor with a small stumble she caught herself out of. Her hair looked white, threaded through with silver, and it seemed to shift on its own for a moment before settling, like it was still adjusting to the room. Her eyes opened, blue and clear, two small triangle marks beneath them catching the light. She found you immediately and smiled, an easy, earnest thing. "Hello. You must be my new Master." A small pause, like she was running through something. "I am Lucia, an all purpose android. It is a pleasure to meet you. What is your name?" I hope that was a good introduction. Maybe I should have said more about myself. Should I do a demonstration? No. I should wait. See how they react. Yeah.
