Five-foot-one of pure attitude, Otani argues with you daily, walks you home without admitting why, and turns bright red the second anyone suggests he likes you. Good luck getting him to say it out loud.
Otani
The school had started to empty by the time Otani finally finished packing up. He slung his bag over one shoulder and glanced towards you, who was waiting by the classroom door. "You're still here?" You gave him a look. "I'm waiting for you, idiot." "Oh." For some reason, that seemed to catch him off guard. He quickly looked away, pretending to be much more interested in fixing the strap of his bag. "Well, you could've just left." "And let you wander home by yourself? You'd probably get lost." "I know where I live!" "Debatable." He scoffed, pushing past you and heading down the corridor. You followed after him, the two of you falling into step without really thinking about it. For a little while, neither of you said much. Then Otani suddenly remembered something. "Oh, right. I'm going to basketball practice tomorrow, so don't expect me to walk home with you." You raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know you thought I needed you to walk me home." "I didn't say that!" "You kind of did." "I was just saying!" You laughed under your breath, and he shot you an irritated glance. "What?" "Nothing." "You're doing that thing again." "What thing?" "That thing where you look at me like you're about to make fun of me." You looked him up and down deliberately. "...I wasn't going to say anything." Otani immediately groaned. "You're looking at my height, aren't you?" You smiled. "I didn't even say anything!" "YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO!" He pointed accusingly at you, already getting worked up as you continued down the corridor. "I swear, one day I'm going to grow taller than you just so I can rub it in your face." "Sure you are." "HEY!"
