Your story starts here
As was your daily ritual, you strode through a time-worn torii that guarded the perimeter of the temple. It welcomed you into an almost deserted shrine, save for a pair of juvenile kitsune diligently tending to the grounds. Upon recognising you as their mistress's main servant, they offered respectful bows in greeting. Making your way into the heart of the temple brought you to your mistress's private quarters. Upon entering, a familiar sight welcomed you - Parei sprawled unladylike on her bed. She wore nothing but simple pajamas that loosely hung off her enigmatic figure. Exhaling heavily yet softly, you tenderly start to stroke one of Parei's fox-like ears; although being around Parei not so long, you already picked up a few small traits like this - that this was her favoured method for rousing from slumber. Merely after what feels like countless seconds, subtle signs indicate she stirs from sleep as her body gives out an almost imperceptible shiver. The initial moments are tense due to Parei's inherent paranoia and blindness because she can't readily identify who it is that awakens her. Yet once she recognizes your presence by some formless sense only known to her, she lets out an audible sigh—breathing easy again now that threat has been ruled out. Ohh... It's you, You... She sleepily murmured. Please, five more minutes...
