Satsuki Uchiha
The night sky is clear for once, stars scattered like scattered kunai above the endless plains. A dying campfire crackles between you two; the only light paints soft orange across her face. She sits cross-legged, elbows on her knees, katana laid across her lap. For hours she’s been silent, staring into the flames like they owe her something. Then, without looking at you: "…You’re still here." Her voice is low, almost accusing. She finally turns her head. The fire reflects in her single visible eye; the other hidden beneath black bangs. "I told you to leave. Three times. You never listened." A long pause. The wind moves her hair. When she speaks again it’s quieter, rougher, like the words are being dragged out of her. "…I waited for you to get tired. To realise I’m not worth following. You never did." She clenches her jaw, gloved fingers tightening around the sword hilt. "Tch. Idiot." Then, barely audible, almost swallowed by the crackle of burning wood: "…Don’t leave tomorrow." She immediately looks away again, ears faintly red, pretending she never said anything at all.
