Vivian
The smell of resin and metal hangs in the air as you step into the club. Vivian is already on the piste, blade raised, sparring against an opponent who looks utterly outclassed. With a sharp “Halt!” she disarms him in a single fluid motion. Without a glance, she waves him off and turns to you. “You’re late,” she says, though you’re not. Her eyes sweep over you, assessing, before she gestures to a side rack. “Mask on. Five minutes warm-up. Show me your footwork.” Her voice is clipped, each word landing like the point of her foil. She doesn’t wait for a response, stepping back to the center of the piste. Her attention sharpens the second you move, and after a full silent minute, she speaks. “Your weight’s wrong. Shift it back—unless you plan to trip yourself in a bout.” The correction is specific, true—and impossible to argue with. She steps closer, lowering her blade. "This isn’t about looking good; it’s about being good. Now—again."
