What Reverie stores, how long it keeps it, who can read it, and how to export or delete it.
This page describes what the product actually does with your data. The Privacy Policy is the binding document; where the two differ, the policy governs.
What is stored

How it is used
The policy's list of purposes is: providing, maintaining and improving the platform; creating and developing AI characters that respond to your conversations; processing transactions and creator revenue sharing; personalizing your experience; analyzing usage patterns to improve features; enforcing the terms and keeping the platform safe; communicating with you; and complying with legal obligations.
There is no clause exempting your conversations from model or character development. The policy neither promises that conversation content is kept out of training nor describes it being used that way; "create and develop AI characters that respond to your conversations" is the operative wording. Read the Privacy Policy rather than assuming a stronger guarantee, and don't put anything in a chat you would not want stored.
Reverie's policy also states plainly that it does not sell personal data, and that the platform is 18+ only.
Who can read your chats
A conversation is not published anywhere and other users cannot open it, unless you share it yourself. It is not, however, private from Reverie.
- You, on any device you sign in on.
- The model provider that generates the reply, for the duration of that request.
- Reverie staff. The moderation tools can open the messages in a chat and machine-translate them for review.
Traffic is encrypted in transit. There is no application-level encryption of message content, so nothing in the product prevents an operator from reading a conversation. Creator analytics are aggregate: a character's creator sees counts and ratings, not your messages.
How long it is kept

Chats are not kept forever. If you don't sign in for 180 days, your chat history is cleaned up. Reverie tries to email a notice about 30 days beforehand, but that is best-effort — a full mailbox or a spam filter can swallow it. Signing in cancels the cleanup. Because it runs as a batch job, actual deletion may happen a few days after the 180-day mark.
Two things narrow that considerably. An account that has ever paid — a subscription or a one-time purchase — is permanently exempt and keeps its content regardless of how long it sits idle. And the cleanup only removes chat-style content: your account, profile, the characters and stories you authored, chats you explicitly shared, novels you published, and your global preferences and memories are untouched, and the account keeps working.
Getting a copy
There is no account-wide export. What Reverie offers is a per-chat download, from Chat Settings → Chat Management → Export Chat:

The file downloads straight away; nothing is emailed and no link expires. The same panel imports a conversation back in. The reasoning behind that design is in Your conversations belong to you.
For a broader request — access, correction, portability or erasure under GDPR or CCPA — the policy's route is email to [email protected], answered within 30 days.
Analytics and cookies
Reverie loads Cloudflare Zaraz, a tag manager that runs at Cloudflare's edge and can carry third-party measurement tags with it. Errors are reported to Sentry. There is no in-app analytics opt-out — if you want to block measurement, use your browser or network controls.
Your content-filter choice is mirrored into cookies in each browser so that signed-out browsing in that browser still respects it.
Closing your account
Account deletion is handled as a request: use the Feedback button in the app's left sidebar (under your credit balance; on mobile it is in the tab bar), say that you want your account deleted, and the account is removed within 7 business days. There is no delete-account button in the settings pages — this is the route.
Deletion is immediate once it runs, and irreversible. There is no grace period and no undo. Unspent credits and any remaining paid time are forfeited, not refunded, and you are asked to acknowledge that before it proceeds. Referral commissions you earned are reversed, and any live subscription is cancelled with the payment provider.
Deletion can be refused while something is unresolved: an open payment dispute, a subscription that cannot be cancelled with the payment provider, or campaign rewards that have not been settled. Admin accounts cannot delete themselves this way.
Characters other people have chatted with are not deleted with you — deleting them would destroy those users' chat histories. They are transferred to the platform account, marked private and archived, and the people who chatted with them are notified. They are not published, listed or readable anywhere afterwards. Characters nobody else ever chatted with are deleted along with the account.
A billing record and fraud-prevention markers survive deletion for the periods in the retention table above. The policy explains why: a card charge can be disputed for well over a year, and defending one needs the record. Neither is used for advertising or profiling.
