Creator messages
Your inbox, consent settings, and what the rules allow.
Approved creators have a private inbox at Creator Center → Messages. Readers send you a request, you decide whether to take it, and only then does it become a conversation.
Who can write to you
Who can contact you has three settings, and it defaults to Followers only:
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Nobody | No request can be opened. Anyone who tries is told you are not accepting new contact requests |
| Followers only | A reader who does not follow you is asked to follow first, in one tap, before they can write |
| Anyone | Any signed-in reader can open a request |
You choose it on the creator application form and can change it any time through Edit creator info.
How a request arrives
A reader writes one opening message of up to 1,000 characters. They can tag it with a topic — Character feedback, Problem with a character, Creative request, Collaboration or Other — and attach one of your public characters so you know what they are talking about.
Until you act on it, the thread holds that single message: the sender cannot send anything else. One person can also open at most 3 contact requests in 24 hours, across all creators, and send at most 20 messages in 10 minutes, so no one can bury you.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Request | Waiting for you. One message, no replies possible |
| Accepted | Open in both directions |
| Declined | Closed. No further replies from either side |
| Blocked | Closed, and that person cannot open a new one |
Replying to a request accepts it. You can also accept it and reply later.
Replying
Replies are up to 2,000 characters. New messages arrive without a refresh, unread threads carry a badge, and you get a notification that links straight to the thread.
Links and email addresses are rejected in message text, in opening messages and replies alike, and attachments are not supported. A message containing a URL or an email address will not send — rewrite it without one.
Actions on a thread
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accept | Opens the conversation |
| Decline | Closes it; no replies can be sent |
| Block | Closes it and stops that person contacting you again |
| Unblock | Reverses a block |
| Report | Sends the participants and the five most recent messages to the safety team. It does not block the other person — do that separately if you want to |
| Archive / Restore | Moves a conversation out of Conversations into Archived, and back |
