Stickers

Add expression stickers to a character and use them in chat.

Stickers are expression images a character can drop into a reply — a smirk, a sulk, a wave. The character's creator adds them, and the model picks one mid-conversation based on the description you wrote for it.

Adding a sticker

Stickers live on the character detail page, not in the character editor. Open the character, go to the Stickers tab, and use Upload Sticker. Anyone can see the tab; only the creator can add, edit or delete.

Drop in an image

Drag and drop, or click to pick a file. One at a time — there is no pack upload.

Write the description

Sticker Description is required and is free text: "Describe the emotion, expression, or action this sticker represents. Be specific to help the AI choose the right sticker." The description is what the model matches a moment in the conversation against, so write a sentence, not a tag.

Upload

The sticker appears in the tab straight away and is available in chat immediately.

What the file can be

RuleValue
FormatsJPG, PNG, WebP, GIF
Aspect ratioNot enforced
Number of stickersNo limit
ProcessingStill images are downscaled to at most 1920 px on the longest side, aimed at 2 MB, and re-encoded to AVIF or WebP when that comes out smaller
AnimationGIFs and animated WebP/AVIF are uploaded untouched, so animated stickers keep moving

Converting a gallery in bulk

If a character already has a gallery, Convert to Stickers on the Gallery tab turns it into a sticker set in one action. Reverie runs its vision model over every non-primary gallery image that belongs to the character or to you, writes a description for each, and creates the stickers — skipping any image that is already a sticker. When it finishes it reports how many were converted, skipped and failed.

The descriptions come from Reverie's vision model, which costs no credits. They are ordinary descriptions afterwards, so edit any that miss.

Editing and deleting

Each sticker has Edit, which changes its description, and Delete. To change the image itself, delete the sticker and upload the new one.

Deleting a sticker cannot be undone. The confirmation says so. If the same image is also in the character's gallery, the gallery copy survives — the sticker entry does not.

Stickers are not reviewed

Nothing checks a sticker before it goes live. Unlike a public character's avatar, stickers do not pass through the automated image review. Whatever you upload is what everyone chatting with the character will see, immediately. Upload art you have the right to use and are happy to publish.

Where stickers show up

  • In chat. Every sticker is handed to the model with its description, and the model can place one inline in a reply. Group chats get a separate sticker set per character.
  • In voice calls. A sticker can pop up as a reaction over the speaking character's avatar. See Voice calls.
  • In proactive messages. Stickers are available to a character reaching out on its own. See Proactive messages.

When a message containing a sticker is read aloud, the sticker is stripped out before synthesis, so the voice reads the words and not the image markup.

There is no frequency setting — you cannot tune how often a character sends stickers — and no per-character toggle for readers to hide them. The description is the only lever, so a sticker described narrowly appears in narrow circumstances.

Stickers and character completeness

One sticker is enough to satisfy the stickers item in a character's completeness score. The creator health check suggests them once a character has five gallery images: "Add stickers (unlocked at 5 gallery images)".

Writing descriptions that work

  • Describe the feeling and the action, not the file. "Covering her face with both hands, ears red, mortified" beats "embarrassed 2".
  • Keep each one distinct. Three descriptions that all say "happy" give the model no way to choose between them.
  • Cover the range you actually chat in — reactions you'd want mid-scene, not just portrait poses.
