Revenue streams

The three ways creators earn, with the actual formulas.

Approved creators earn from three separate things: credits other people spend on your public works, commission on plugins you publish, and direct support from fans. The first two pay platform credits; only the third becomes money.

A work is a public character or a public story. Both earn on identical terms.

Work credit rewards

Each public work — character or story — earns on its own usage, measured per calendar month:

Reward = (paid credits other people spent on this work this month − 1,000,000) × 5%

Below 1,000,000 the work earns nothing that month.

What counts, and what does not:

RuleDetail
Paid credits onlySubscription and purchased credits. Free and bonus credits never count, no matter how much of them is spent
Other people onlyYour own use of your own work is subtracted before the threshold test
Public onlyThe work must be public for the month's usage to qualify. Unlisted and private earn nothing
Approved creators onlyThe run skips pending applicants entirely
Per workUsage is never pooled. Two works at 900,000 each earn nothing — and a character and a story are two works

For a character, the usage measured is chat. For a story, it is play — story turns and the images generated inside them. The in-story Private Chat attributes to the character you are chatting with, as an ordinary chat does.

The payout runs at 23:50 UTC on the 1st for the month just ended, writes one entry per qualifying work, and credits your ordinary credit balance. You get an in-app notification when it lands, and the entry names the work it came from.

Worked example. Other people spend 2,400,000 paid credits on your public character during March, and 1,600,000 playing your public story. On 1 April you receive (2,400,000 − 1,000,000) × 5% = 70,000 credits for the character and (1,600,000 − 1,000,000) × 5% = 30,000 credits for the story — two entries, 100,000 credits in total. A second character that took 900,000 paid credits in the same month adds nothing; it is measured on its own and never combined with the others.

While the month is running, Creator Center → Overview shows Paid credits this month, Estimated reward, Days until payout and per-work progress, including how many credits a work still needs before it starts earning. Those estimates move in real time and are finalised when the month closes.

Plugin commissions

A published plugin earns on the prompt text it injects — not on what the chat spends:

Commission = plugin prompt tokens × the model's credit multiplier × 5% × paid share of that message

  • Plugin prompt tokens is an estimate of your plugin's own rendered prompt template, at roughly 3.5 characters per token. A short template earns proportionally little.
  • The model's credit multiplier is the multiplier of the model that answered. See how credits are priced.
  • Paid share is the paid credits divided by the total credits for that one message. A message paid for entirely with free credits earns nothing.

Worked example. Your template renders to about 700 characters, so roughly 200 tokens. On a model with a 2x credit multiplier that is 400 credits of prompt cost, and your commission is 20 credits for that message — less if part of the message was paid with free credits.

Nothing is earned when:

CaseWhy
Official pluginsThey have no creator to pay
Your own plugin in your own chatSelf-use does not earn
Plugins with no prompt templateInteractive and model-parameter plugins inject nothing, so they earn nothing at all
Private pluginsNobody else can install them, and the earnings view lists public plugins only

Commissions accumulate as fractional credits per message and settle on the 1st at 02:00 UTC. A settlement needs at least 100 pending credits — below that, the balance stays pending and rolls forward to the following month. Creator Center → Earnings shows Total earned, Pending, This month and the next settlement date.

Direct fan support

Fans tip you through ordinary checkout. Reverie takes 0% of the support itself; the full amount lands in a USD balance, and the only fee is the flat 15% taken at withdrawal.

Direct support → · Withdrawals →

What does not change your rates

Both percentages are flat for everyone. There is no creator tiering: no rate rises with volume, followers, the verified badge or your creator level. Creator level is a cosmetic rank computed from the creator achievements you have unlocked. It changes no rate, no fee and no ranking.

Platform credits are not convertible to money. There is no credits-to-USDT flow, no conversion rate, and no beta programme that turns them into cash — credits are spending power inside Reverie and nothing else. The only balance that can be withdrawn is the USD balance from direct fan support.

Other ways credits move

Campaigns pay platform credits to ranked entries. Bounties go the other way for the funder — you spend credits to fund one — and pay credits in full to whoever solves it.
