Account setup
Every sign-in method Reverie enables, what the Welcome Tour asks you, and what a new account starts with.
You can read public character profiles and send a handful of messages as a guest: 5 messages, or 8 once you have passed the anti-bot check. The allowance starts over 24 hours after your first message, and one IP address can send at most 30 a day. Guest chats are deleted after 7 days. Characters can be searched without an account; saving, creating, credits and story search need one.

A Cloudflare Turnstile challenge can appear on the sign-in, sign-up and forgot-password forms, and when you resend a verification email. Disposable email addresses are rejected at sign-up. Sessions last 30 days. An email account that is never verified and never receives a credit balance is deleted after 7 days.
You can connect Google or Discord to an existing account from Settings → Security → Connected accounts, but there is no way to disconnect one afterwards. Passkeys can be deleted; social connections cannot.

The Welcome Tour
The first time you open Home with a new account, the Welcome Tour opens over it.
Most new accounts open it on a welcome gift: free messages on the default model, then two more boxes, one a day. Each unlocks at midnight your time after you open the one before it, and waits for you.
Then comes a single screen, Pick a Character to Start. Choose the type of characters (All / Female / Male) and set the SFW / 18+ switch; turning 18+ on asks you to confirm you are over 18 first. The starter characters follow your choices: tap one to open a chat with it, or Show another set to reshuffle them.
Skip closes the tour permanently; it does not come back on your next visit. You can change both later: the 18+ switch is at Settings → Preferences, and the character type is in the user menu.
Your name and handle
Two different things. Your display name is what characters call you and what other users see; it needs at least 3 characters and you can change it whenever you like. Your username is the handle in your public profile URL, /u/<handle> — 3 to 30 characters, lowercase letters, numbers and underscores only, and changeable once every 30 days. Both live at Settings → Profile, along with your avatar. See Profile for the full rules.

Welcome-gift messages are free replies on the default model in character chats on the website, and cover nothing else: the Discord and Telegram bots, stories and AI Rewrite are billed as usual. A new account has 7 days to open its first box; the two after it have no deadline.
The sign-up grant is 0 if the anti-fraud check on your IP address and browser fires. An account without a sign-up grant gets no signup trials and no welcome gift; the free reply suggestions still apply. If your balance is empty after signing up, contact support.
The daily bonus is a claim, not a login reward. While today's reward is unclaimed, a Daily check-in banner sits at the top of Home with a Claim button; after you claim, it disappears until the next reset. Open the app without tapping Claim and you get nothing for that day, and the streak restarts at day 1.
Everything else — group chats, stories, novels, character creation, plugins — works on a free account. A subscription adds a monthly credit allowance and unlocks the two advanced models in the picker.
Language
The interface is available in 21 languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Русский, Italiano, العربية, हिन्दी, Bahasa Indonesia, ไทย, Tiếng Việt, Türkçe, Polski, Українська, Nederlands and Filipino. Set yours at Settings → Preferences → Your language.
Your language decides the interface and which translations of characters and moments you see. It does not filter or reorder any feed — everyone sees the same moments, localized. These documentation pages are translated into the same 21 languages, and a page that has not been translated yet is served in English.
