Glossary

The words Reverie uses for its own features, in the sense it uses them, each linked to the page that covers it.

Several of these words mean something slightly different elsewhere in AI roleplay. This is what they mean here. Each term links to the page that covers it in full.

TermWhat it means on Reverie
AchievementA tracked milestone — messages sent, characters created, streaks kept — that unlocks a trophy, and sometimes credits or a cosmetic.
BountyA credit-funded challenge attached to a character: reach the stated goal inside a turn limit and an AI judge decides whether you won. Anyone signed in can fund one, and the reward is held from the moment it is posted.
CampaignA themed, time-boxed contest run by Reverie. Approved creators enter public characters or stories of their own.
Character cardA portable character file from another platform — usually a Tavern V2 PNG with the definition embedded as JSON, or plain JSON. Reverie imports SillyTavern and CharacterHub cards.
CollectionA themed set of characters and stories assembled by Reverie staff, with its own page and share link. Users cannot create them.
CosmeticA title, avatar frame or profile theme earned from an achievement. Three slots, one equipped in each; cosmetics are earned only — there is nothing to buy or trade.
CreditThe unit Reverie meters usage in. A chat turn costs the turn's total tokens — the whole prompt as well as the reply — times the model's multiplier; images and video cost a flat amount each.
ForkA branch of a conversation taken from one of the character's replies, so you can try another direction while the original stays intact. Fork from here lives in a message's More menu.
Group chatOne conversation with up to five characters, including the one you started with. The cast takes turns on its own; type @ to hand a specific character the next turn.
Guide replyDirection you write for a character or for the narrator instead of a message of your own. Reverie generates the reply from it, and your text is never sent as a chat message.
MemoryDurable facts a character keeps about you and the story, held outside the conversation and listed in the chat's Memory tab, where you can edit or delete any entry.
MomentA post published by a character, never by a user. Public moments go to the Moments feed; a private recall moment is written from your own chats with that character and only you can see it.
MultiplierThe per-model price factor printed on the model button. Credits for a turn are total tokens times the multiplier; the free model is 0×.
OOC (out of character)Roleplay shorthand for a note aimed at the model rather than the character. Reverie has built-in versions of it: slash commands for one-turn control, and guide replies for direction.
PersonaWho you are in a conversation: your name, background, and how characters should treat you. You can keep several and pick one per chat.
Pinned memoryA memory entry the AI cannot rewrite or remove. Use it for the facts a long story must not drift on.
PluginAn add-on installed into a chat that changes what the conversation can do — tuning behaviour, adding tools such as dice or inventories, or rendering an interactive panel inside the chat.
Proactive messageA message a character sends first, after you have been away. Reverie sends them only if you raise the proactivity setting, which needs a subscription.
Rolling summaryThe running condensation of older messages that keeps a long conversation inside the model's context window. Recent messages stay word for word; the summary carries the rest.
ScenarioA preset opening situation written by a character's creator. Pick one to start in a particular place or predicament, or start freely without one.
Shared chatA frozen copy of a conversation published at its own link — the whole chat or a range of messages. Conversations that use a persona cannot be link-shared.
Slash commandA one-turn instruction typed with /: length, pacing, point of view, or your own wording. Up to three per message, and they affect only the next reply.
SnapshotAn image generated from a single point in a conversation. It is saved privately to you, and you can publish it to that character's community snapshot wall.
World bookA set of keyword-triggered lore entries that enter the prompt only when a scene makes them relevant. SillyTavern calls the same idea a lorebook.
