Conversations

Sharing a conversation

Publish a conversation by link, control what it shows, and take it down.

The Share button in the chat header opens Share Conversation, which offers two things: an image of the conversation, and a link to a readable page of it.

Share as Image

A rendered card of the conversation you can download, copy, or hand to your phone's share sheet. Under Messages shown you choose All or the last few — long conversations are hard to read as an image, so the dialog offers the shorter range. A scene image from the chat can be shared the same way as a Scene card.

Share as Link

Creating a link takes a snapshot of the whole conversation as it stands and publishes it at its own URL. Signing in is required.

VisibilityWhere it appears
Public Share (the default)The character's Shared chats tab, and the community gallery at /memories
Only visible via linkNowhere — only people you send the URL to

You can flip between them at any time with Make public and Make link-only.

The community gallery is called "Memories". That is shared conversations other people published — it has nothing to do with the memory a character keeps about you, which is private and never published. A separate page, /app/share, is also not conversation sharing: it is the receiver for content shared into Reverie from another app's share sheet.

A snapshot is frozen

The published page is a copy taken when you created the link. Messages you send afterwards do not appear in it. Back in the share dialog, a link that has fallen behind is marked Not current with a count of new messages, and Update this link rebuilds it in place — same URL, same likes, so anything you have already sent out keeps working.

Every link you have made for a conversation is listed under Your share links, each with Open, Poster, a visibility switch, Update this link and Delete. If a current link already exists, Reverie hands you that one back instead of minting a second.

What a reader sees

The transcript, the character, and who shared it — your display name, or Anonymous user if you have not claimed a username. A very long conversation shows only its most recent part, with controls to reveal more. Slash-command details are stripped from the public view, and an AI-content disclaimer sits at the bottom.

Anyone reading it can Import chat and continue, which copies the conversation into their own chats and lets them carry on from where yours stopped. Their continuation is theirs — it does not touch your conversation.

Images keep working after the fact: a shared snapshot points at the same files, and those files are preserved even if you later delete the source conversation.

When a link cannot be created

A persona blocks link sharing. If the conversation uses a persona, Share as Link is unavailable: "Link sharing is not available when using a user persona. Your persona is private and cannot be shared with others." The image share still works.

Link sharing also requires a signed-in account in good standing — an account carrying credit debt cannot publish.

Taking it down

Delete a link from Your share links, or from the My Shares tab of the Memories page, which lists your published conversations alongside the snapshots you put on a character's wall and where you can also rename a published conversation, copy its URL and change its visibility.

Deleting a shared conversation is permanent — the page, its likes and the published copy of the messages all go. Your own conversation is not affected.

Reporting a memory

Anyone signed in can report a memory that is not their own, from the flag at the top of its page. What happens next is described in Safety and reporting.
