Scene snapshots
Turn a character's message into an image in one tap, keep it private, or publish it to that character's community wall.
A scene snapshot is an image generated from one of a character's messages. You take it inside the chat, it is saved privately to that character's gallery, and it stays private until you decide to publish it.
Taking one
Hover a character's message on desktop, or tap it on touch, to reveal the toolbar.
Tap Snapshot
The button carries the price alongside it. One tap generates one image from that message — you do not write a prompt.
Confirm the cost, once
The first time, Reverie asks Take a scene snapshot? and tells you roughly how many credits it costs. It only asks once.
Find it in the gallery
The snapshot is attached to the message and saved to the character's gallery under My snapshots, marked Automatically saved. Only you can see it until you publish.
Custom snapshot, in the same toolbar's More menu, opens the scene-image dialog instead, where you can direct the image rather than taking what the one-tap gives you. Applying a candidate attaches it to the message and closes the dialog; Share snapshot on the image's toolbar opens the sharing options whenever you want them.
Snapshots cost credits from your balance each time. A failed generation is not charged — the message says so — but a successful one you dislike still is.
Cost, free allowance and the daily cap

The daily cap is a cost guard against a runaway loop, not a quality limit. When you hit it: You've reached today's snapshot limit. Try again tomorrow.
Private, then published
A snapshot moves through states you control:

Publish scene & text starts that. Before you publish you can add a Title of up to 100 characters and an Excerpt of up to 240 — both optional, neither filled in for you. Use this message's text copies the message into the excerpt if you want it there. Withdraw publication takes it back down, and Save text on its own changes the copy without publishing anything.
Exporting is separate from publishing. Share externally (or Share as Image in the conversation share dialog) builds a scene card you can save, copy or send, with Share to buttons for X, Telegram and WhatsApp and Reddit and Facebook under More. A private export's QR code and share links open the character rather than the scene — Exporting does not publish this scene.
The character's community wall
A published snapshot lands in Community snapshots on the character's page — Scenes players shared from their own chats — next to everyone else's. It also joins the Snapshots scope of the community gallery at /memories, beside the shared conversations.
- Creators can turn the wall off per character, with the Community snapshots setting in the character's editor. It is on by default. With it off, only you see your own snapshots there.
- A creator can Hide from the wall any single snapshot. That removes it from the wall; your copy is untouched, and Show on the wall puts it back.
- You can take yours down yourself with Remove mine from the wall.
- Snapshots on a wall carry a Report action, and a snapshot's public page has a Report link for anyone signed in who is not its owner. They are one of the five things on Reverie that can be reported — see Safety & reporting.
Snapshots generated on the adult route reach the wall only for viewers who have opted into adult content. They are never used where one image is shown to everyone: Adult-mode snapshots can go on the community wall, but not on a review, and the same applies to character banners and link previews.

The public page
Every published snapshot gets its own public page: the image, the title and excerpt you saved, your name as the person who shared it, and a Start your story button. That button opens a new conversation with the character. Your chat is not shared, and the public page never exposes the conversation text or the prompt behind the image.
Visitors can pass the page on with Share, which opens the same share dialog as everywhere else on Reverie: the poster, the link and the social destinations. They can open the character with View character and browse More moments with that character — other snapshots on its wall. Signed-in visitors see the page inside the app; everyone else sees the public one. Your own published snapshots are listed with your published conversations under My Shares on the Memories page, where you can take one off the wall again.
A public page stops working only if you withdraw the snapshot or moderation removes it after a report. If the character is later made private or deleted, the page stays up but no longer links to the character or offers to start a story with it. The creator hiding a snapshot or turning the wall off changes where it is listed, not whether its page answers.
