Account setup
Every sign-in method Reverie enables, what the Welcome Tour asks you, and what a new account starts with.
You can read public character profiles and send a handful of messages as a guest: 5 messages, 8 once you have passed the anti-bot check, and 30 a day from one IP address. Guest chats are deleted after 7 days, and search, saving, creating and credits all need an account.

A Cloudflare Turnstile challenge can appear on the sign-in and sign-up forms. Disposable email addresses are rejected at sign-up. Sessions last 30 days. An email account that is never verified and never receives a credit balance is deleted after 7 days.
You can connect Google or Discord to an existing account from Settings → Security → Connected accounts, but there is no way to disconnect one afterwards. Passkeys can be deleted; social connections cannot.

The first time you open Home with a new account, the Welcome Tour opens over it.
Personalize Your Experience
Three questions: What should characters call you?, What type of characters interest you? (All / Female / Male), and the Mature Content (NSFW) toggle, which is off by default. Save & Continue writes all three to your account.
Pick a Character to Start
A set of starter characters chosen from the answers you just gave. Show another set reshuffles it; you can also skip straight to browsing.
The feature tour
You're All Set! offers a quick tour — four slides covering Interactive Plugins, Memory, Group Chat and Stories & Novels. You can decline it and start chatting instead.
Skip at any point closes the tour permanently; it does not come back on your next visit. Every answer is editable later: your name at Settings → Profile, the other two at Settings → Preferences. Turning on 18+ content later asks you to confirm you are over 18 first.
Your name and handle
Two different things. Your display name is what characters call you and what other users see; it needs at least 3 characters and you can change it whenever you like. Your username is the handle in your public profile URL, /u/<handle> — 3 to 30 characters, lowercase letters, numbers and underscores only, and changeable once every 30 days. Both live at Settings → Profile, along with your avatar. See Profile for the full rules.

The sign-up grant is 0 if an anti-fraud check on your IP address and browser fires, which also cancels the 24-hour free allowance. If your balance shows nothing after signing up, that is the cause — contact support.
The daily bonus is a claim, not a login reward. While today's reward is unclaimed, a Daily check-in banner sits at the top of Home with a Claim button; after you claim, it disappears until the next reset. Open the app without tapping Claim and you get nothing for that day, and the streak restarts at day 1.
Everything else — group chats, stories, novels, character creation, plugins — works on a free account. A subscription adds a monthly credit allowance and unlocks the two advanced models in the picker.
Language
The interface is available in 17 languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文, Русский, Italiano, العربية, हिन्दी, Bahasa Indonesia, ไทย, Tiếng Việt, Türkçe and Polski. Set yours at Settings → Preferences → Your language.
Your language decides the interface and which translations of characters and moments you see. It does not filter or reorder any feed — everyone sees the same moments, localized. These documentation pages are English only.
